Little by little, the truth about mankind’s past is being revealed; case in point, an article just released revealed what Masonry has known about for centuries, which are disclosed through its teachings and traditions. Masonry has claimed that its roots date back well before the ancient Egyptian empire ruled the Middle East; even before Jesus walked this earth.

In short, a recent discovery found a small papyrus (a thin paper-like material made from the pith of the papyrus plant) fragment that contained words that matched those from the Book of Mark, which was used to create a mask for an Egyptian mummy. In fact, one mask, which was dated to the year 90 AD, could contain up to twelve possible Book of Mark texts. This is significant because, up until recently, the oldest known writings were dated between 100 and 200 AD.

This new document (small papyrus) is also significant because it was found attached to an Egyptian mummy (as a mask), thereby aligning early Christianity to the Egyptian mysteries.

You see, Masonic teachings and traditions say that Moses and Jesus were schooled in the Egyptian mysteries. Albert Pike, author of Morals and Dogma (1872-2011) confirmed this link when he wrote, “Their Emblems have been already explained. They are part of the language of Masonry; the same now as it was when Moses learned it from the Egyptian Heiroplants” (p. 313); and “The Basilideans, a sect of Christians that arose soon after the Apostles, practiced the Mysteries, with the old Egyptian legend” (p. 644). In fact, there are countless links made by Pike in his book Morals and Dogma that confirm the link between early Christians and the Egyptian Mysteries ~ look it up for yourself if you do not believe me!!!

In short, the Craft does not think the two cultures were separate; rather, we believe they were closely aligned and associated, as were other ancient religions and cultures. Click here to read the article in length.  And here for another article. And another.
